About The Neighborhood
The subdivision of Plumosa Heights was a historic turning point in Oceanside’s major leap in development during the booming 1920s. The city sold land, not fully-constructed houses, to residents. Within one year, the building of homes on these lots had increased two-fold, from 50 to 100. This sprawling twelve block area was named Plumosa Heights for the Cocos Plumosa palms that line the streets, and is still well recognized for its antique lamps and charming history.
