Brooks Theatre has an extensive history: it began as a butcher shop, then a drug store, a barbershop and a billiard parlor, to eventually become the center of theatre and arts in Oceanside in 1936 (announced as Margo Theatre). However, it wasn’t officially acquired by the city until 1993, when the much loved building was purchased from Hattie Hazel “Sunshine Brooks“–its current namesake.

Bringing age old love of theatre, Brooks operates as it has for many years, offering a myriad of shows as well as an academy for children 10-17. Full of history and passion, Brooks Theatre is a perfect place for a dramatic getaway.
